Stipendium Hungaricum: one of the most important bases for internationalization of Óbuda University

On 22 March 2023, Deputy State Secretary Miklós Lengyel visited Óbuda University, where he had talks with Prof Dr Levente Kovács, President of the University. They discussed various issues related to the University’s participation in the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme. Later on, DSS Lengyel also had a chance to meet some representatives of the SH scholarship holder community at Óbuda University.

The University has been involved in the SH program since its inception, and we are happy to see that the number of students applying increases every year – as it was highlighted at the meeting. The geographical distribution of applicants is very diverse, as students now come to Óbuda University from more than 54 countries. All faculties of ÓE offer students degree programs, the number of which has increased year by year, explained Rector Kovács.
He also called the promotion of the program a priority task, the best example of which is the knowledge and technology center handed over in Nairobi on March 7 in the presence of Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament László Kövér.
