New study programmes available at Károli Gáspár University!

Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary launches two new study programmes in English starting in the academic year 2022/2023: the PhD studies in Law and Political Sciences and the Teacher of English as a foreign language.

To further broaden their programme list available in English, Károli Gáspár University announced two new study programmes that will be available from the next academic year.

1. PhD studies in Law and Political Sciences

The Faculty of Law of Károli Gáspár University is famous for its excellent graduate courses and valued degrees. Their Doctoral School is based on the esteemed training skills and scholarly capacities of the teaching staff of this Faculty, and it is deeply devoted to the ethical and cultural values represented by the University. Internationality and multidisciplinarity are highly supported and embodied in their doctoral training.

The main goal of the doctoral program is to contribute to a high value of legal thinking and legal reasoning in the next generations of lawyers. 2. Teacher of English as a Foreign Language

The full-time degree programme is either 2 or 4 semesters (60 or 120 credits), depending on your previous qualifications.

Károli Gáspár University offers a 2-semester full-time degree programme to those who are qualified English teachers for the upper primary school classes. The English module is 45 credits, while the teacher training module is 15 credits. The English module comprises courses in language development, linguistics, literature, history and culture – taught with a view as to how these can be incorporated into teaching English. At the end of the 3rd semester, students are required to take the so-called Complex Exam in language proficiency. The teacher training module includes courses in pedagogy, psychology and methodology. Students are also required to do a supervised teaching practice and have to submit a portfolio.
