Hungarian Education on the Road in China and the USA

  In Spring representatives of Hungarian higher education will visit China and the USA to promote opporturnities to study in Hungary and to enhance academic cooperations.

In China, China International Education Exhibition Tour will take place from the 6th till the 16th of May in Beijing and Shanghai.   Participants can get detailed information about Stipendium Hungaricum Programme, especially the Hudec scholarship which is an initiative within the range of Stipendium Hungaricum attracting Chinese students from East China Normal University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Tongji University in Shanghai.

Visitors can meet representatives of Hungarian higher education insitutions and of Tempus Foundation, the managing organization of the scholarships.

Students interested in Hungarian education in the United States can also inquire at NAFSA Expo & Conference in Denver, from the 29th of May until the 3rd of June.

Department of Biophysics and Radiation Biology

The main concept of the opening of the biophysical research centre with the total value of 1,5 billion Forints equipment pool was to answer a scientific question from the molecular level to the patient’s bed via animal tests. The name giver of the new centre is György Békésy, the Hungarian biophysicist, who received Nobel-Prize in medicine-physiology in 1961.

Further relations in medical studies

Ghazizadeh Hashemi, Minister of Health and Medical Education of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has visited Semmelweis University. The visit was organized by the Ministry of Human Capacities of Hungary, and the delegation was welcomed by Rector Ágoston Szél. In the framework of the meeting, a mutually agreed Memorandum of Understanding was signed.

Deepening university relations

Dr. Ágoston Szél, Rector of Semmelweis University and Dr. Pop Marcel, Head of the Directorate of International Relations visited Vietnam with the aim of strengthening existing partnerships and establishing new co-operations. They discussed the possibilities of the Erasmus+ scholarship program among others. In China, Dr. Zoltán Zsolt Nagy, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Dr. Yu Funian, guest lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences, joined the delegation. The aim of the visit was to deepen the relationship between the two universities and to continue the negotiations.
