Be a remote tourist and explore Hungary

Do you want to discover the natural wonders of Hungary without leaving your home? Do you want to gather ideas for your future journeys in the Hungarian countryside? We have collected three virtual tours in the region to help you break away from the weekdays.

Lake Balaton from the top of the hills

Thanks to its beautifully diverse landscape and vibrant cultural life, Lake Balaton is worth visiting at all times of the year. The largest freshwater lake of Central Europe provides opportunities for all the ages in all seasons to switch off: you can visit the appealing beaches, join the vibrant nightlife of the lakeshore cities or try the unique thermal baths, such as the world-famous Lake Bath in Hévíz. But did you know that Lake Balaton is surrounded by volcanic mountains with amazing caves and several  hiking trails? Or that the vineyard on the north sore is among the most famous ones in Hungary?

Fortunately, you have the chance to explore the whole Balaton region by visiting the most enchanting nearby watchtowers virtually as well. By looking down from the top of the hills, you can discover the surrounding natural wonders of the lake: the scenic Balaton uplands from the hills of Badacsony, the city of Siófok from the Víztorony in the centre, or the whole Tihany Peninsula with a view to the famous Benedictine Abbey. All you have to do is to start the 3DPano’s online journey and enjoy the view. And if you got impressed by the picturesque land, it is a good time to get your university friends and make your future journey plans to the region.

The Danube Bend from a birds-eye-view

The Danube Bend is one of the most significant touristic and cultural regions of Hungary located just a few miles north of Budapest. The site, where the Danube takes a sharp turn to the South, is a perfect destination for all who love nature, arts or history. The small, romantic towns such as Szentendre with its Mediterranean atmosphere, the beautiful medieval castles and the surrounding hills of Börzsöny make the whole region a really special one.

Thanks to the DRONE EYE photography’s new virtual tour project, you have the chance now to explore 22 scenes of the Danube Bend landscape from a birds-eye-view. Besides the beautiful panorama of the Visegrád Castle or the Duna-Ipoly National Park, you can also get an insight view of some famous churches of the region, such as the prominent Cathedral in Vác.

If you wish to gain some amazing experience even if you are stuck indoors, join the virtual journey and navigate through the Hungarian region online.

Virtual trips in the caves of Lillafüred

The small, charming town of Lillafüred is located in Eastern Hungary not far from the city of Miskolc and Eger. Surrounded by the beautiful hills of the Bükk Mountains, the town provides all that the nature lovers need. The beautiful Hámori Lake with the picturesque Renaissance Palota Hotel, the 20-meter high Szinva Waterfall or the romantic Hanging Garden with its series of terraces are just some of those attractions to be mentioned. But you may find interesting things deep in the mountain ranges as well. The world-famous natural caves of the town, the Anna Cave, St. Stephen Cave and the Szeleta Cave are all unique geological treasures of Hungary.

If you want to roam under the mountains or wonder at the beautiful stones of the caves, you can do it now from your home too. In this time of the closure, Bükk National Park invites all the visitors to discover the beauties of Anna Cave and St. Stephen Cave by a virtual cave tour. The trip is also available on the GUIDE@HAND BNPI mobile app, so you can join the journey anytime, anywhere. Just sign up and start.
